MLB Money Lines - Baseball Odds

Offered below are the live current MLB money lines from various reputable online sportsbooks. Compare the baseball odds from each bookmaker to get the best possible line before you place your wagers.

Betting on baseball is sometimes a bit intimidating for those who are used to wagering on football and basketball where they bet the point spread. In baseball, the odds look different and act different. The most common form of betting baseball odds is the moneyline. It basically replaces the point spread, meaning you only need to pick the winning team, not pick the winning team by 1 or 2 or 3 runs. If that sounds like a great deal for the bettor, it would be fantastic to be able bet the Blue Jays against the AL's worst team at even odds. But the sportsbook knows this and makes the moneyline so that there is risk and reward.

Negative values for the Red Sox like -145 indicate the favorite. When you see the Blue Jays are +125, that means they are the underdog. The easiest way to picture MLB moneyline betting is to picture a number line with favorite -145 to the left, 100 in the middle and underdog +125 to the right.

To bet on Boston, you need to risk $145 to win $100. They are favored, so you have to risk a bit more to get the bet. For the Jays, you would risk $100 to win $125. So the risk is a bit less and the reward or payout a bit more. This creates the risk-reward to make Blue Jay bettors want to play on their team.

Smart bettors who like baseball odds on underdogs look for moneylines where they can earn the most profit. So if one sportsbook is +120, another is +124 and yet another is +127, why not take +127? It means you bet $100 for all three choices, but your profit is better with one. On the other side for favorite bettors, you want to risk as little as possible. If one book has the Red Sox at -130 and the other at -135, you should take -130 (risking only $130, instead of $135).
